Terms of use
Improvista is operated by ntrada, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 98243861, with its registered address at Tollensstraat 108, 3035 NM Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
For questions about Improvista or these terms, contact contact@improvista.io.
These terms govern your use of Improvista. When you create an account, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we use personal information.
About Improvista
Improvista helps people discover improv shows, jams, workshops, and courses. You can browse listings, follow external ticket links, and register for events when the organiser offers signups through Improvista. Groups can publish events, invite players, and manage lineups.
Unless a listing expressly states otherwise, Improvista is not the event organiser. Organisers are responsible for their events, including their delivery, safety, accessibility, admission requirements, and cancellations.
Event registrations, tickets, and payments
Improvista provides tools for organisers to list events, accept free registrations, and, where available, sell tickets. Unless expressly stated otherwise, ntrada provides the platform and is not the event organiser or ticket seller.
Your registration or ticket purchase is with the organiser identified in the listing. The organiser is responsible for delivering the event, admission conditions, cancellations, and any refunds required under the booking terms or applicable law.
Free registrations do not require payment. The event listing explains what your registration includes and any attendance conditions.
For paid bookings through Improvista, organisers connect their own payment provider account, such as Mollie. Payments are processed through that provider for the organiser. The total price, any applicable fees, and the relevant booking terms will be shown before you confirm your purchase.
If a listing links to an external ticket website, purchases take place through that website and its terms also apply.
Contact the organiser about event details, your booking, cancellations, or refunds. Contact contact@improvista.io for technical problems with Improvista.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights or excludes ntrada's responsibility for the platform services it provides.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity carried out through your account. Provide accurate information and keep your email address up to date.
You must have permission to act for any group or organisation you manage on Improvista. Do not impersonate another person or organisation.
If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us promptly.
Events, groups, and profiles
You are responsible for the content you publish, including descriptions, dates, locations, prices, images, links, and any claims about an event.
Keep your listings accurate and update them when details change or an event is cancelled. Clearly describe any admission conditions or restrictions.
Only publish content you own or have permission to use. Do not include someone else's personal information without an appropriate basis for doing so.
Published listings, groups, and player profiles are public as described in our privacy policy.
Permission to display your content
You retain ownership of your content.
By publishing it, you give ntrada a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and format that content to operate and promote Improvista. This includes displaying listings on the site, in event newsletters, and in previews when event links are shared.
This permission lasts while your content is published. Removing content stops future promotional use, but does not recall emails already sent or copies shared by others. Backup retention is covered by our privacy policy.
Free and paid features
During our launch period, all events are free to list, including events that charge for admission. Free-to-attend events will remain free to list.
We may introduce fees for listing paid events and for optional tools or features.
Before you purchase a paid listing or feature, we will explain its price, what it includes, whether payment is one-off or recurring, and any applicable renewal, cancellation, and refund terms. You will not be charged without choosing to purchase it.
A feature offered free during launch or a trial may become paid later. We will give affected users advance notice and explain their options before the change takes effect. Using a free feature does not automatically enrol you in a paid plan.
We will not retrospectively charge for listings already published or features already used. Any fee for renewing, republishing, promoting, or continuing to use a feature will be shown before you choose to proceed.
Paying for a listing or feature does not exempt you from these terms or guarantee attendance, ticket sales, or inclusion in newsletters or other promotions.
Event signups and invitations
A signup through Improvista is a registration for the event described in the listing. The organiser controls capacity, admission requirements, and attendance arrangements, and may cancel a registration for a legitimate event-related reason.
Closing the page after signing up does not cancel your registration. Use the cancellation option provided, or contact the organiser if you need help.
When you sign up through Improvista, the organiser can see your name and attendance status, but not your email address.
An invitation does not mean you have accepted a place or agreed to appear in an event. Follow the invitation instructions to confirm your response.
Acceptable use
Do not use Improvista to:
- Publish unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, or infringing content.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or unlawfully discriminate against others.
- Send spam, create deceptive listings, or misuse invitations and signups.
- Impersonate someone or claim authority to represent a group without permission.
- Collect or misuse other people's personal information.
- Attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious software, or interfere with the service.
- Evade an account restriction or help another person evade one.
Listings must be relevant to improv events and the community Improvista serves. We may remove unrelated advertising, duplicate listings, and other content that falls outside that scope.
Removing content and restricting accounts
We reserve the right to refuse publication, remove or limit the visibility of content, cancel signups, and temporarily suspend or permanently close accounts where we reasonably consider that:
- These terms have been breached.
- Content or activity is unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, or infringes another person's rights.
- An account, listing, or signup is being used for spam, abuse, or manipulation.
- Action is needed to protect users, the public, or the security and operation of Improvista.
- Content falls outside the scope of the service.
- We are required to act by law or a competent authority.
The action we take will depend on the nature, seriousness, and repetition of the issue. We may act immediately without advance notice where necessary.
Where required by law, we will explain the action, the reasons for it, and any available options for challenging it. If you believe we have made a mistake, contact contact@improvista.io.
Publishing a listing does not guarantee that it will remain available or be included in newsletters or other promotions.
Reporting a problem
To report unlawful content, an inaccurate listing, or misuse of Improvista, email contact@improvista.io.
Include a link to the relevant page and explain the issue. If you believe content infringes your rights, describe those rights and provide enough information for us to assess the report.
Availability and event information
We aim to keep Improvista available and accurate, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that every listing is complete, current, or correct.
Events may change or be cancelled, and external ticket links may become unavailable. Check important details with the organiser before travelling, paying, or making other arrangements.
We may update, replace, or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects an ongoing service we provide to you, we will give notice where reasonably practicable and as required by law.
Responsibility and liability
Organisers are responsible for the events they publish. External providers are responsible for their own websites, ticket sales, and services.
We are responsible for our own obligations under applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Privacy and marketing
Our privacy policy explains how we process account information, registrations, invitations, and other personal data.
Marketing emails are optional. Creating an account, publishing an event, or signing up for an event does not by itself subscribe you to marketing.
Address information
Dutch address suggestions are provided by PDOK, a Dutch government service. Address suggestions outside the Netherlands use OpenStreetMap's public search service.
Map data attribution: © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to Improvista, legal requirements, or how the service operates.
We will publish the updated terms with a revised date and notify account holders of material changes before they take effect, where required by law. Changes will not retrospectively alter rights or obligations that have already arisen.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in another court that apply to you under the law.
Subject to those rights and any other mandatory jurisdiction rules, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in Rotterdam.
